Matt Steinglass has a couple of great posts over at Democracy in America:
Paul Pillar of the National Interest picks on Romney as well
As I keep saying over and over: Mitt Romney is going to win the election. Why? Because the economy sucks. If it gets better within the next seven months, then Obama will get four more years to urinate on the rule of law and our federal republic.
K.I.S.S. Keep it simple, stupid.
And last but definitely not least, Marxist historian Gabriel Kolko sets the historical record straight on Herbert Hoover and his supposed laissez-faire policies: The New Deal Illusion. This is a must read (h/t Steve Horwitz).
I know who you think will win, but of the two who would you prefer to win? I keep going back and forth. In my mind I think Romney will be better for this country in the short run, because his tax policies would be more pro-growth. On the other hand he may be worse in the long run. I can’t imagine Romney getting eight years unless the economy is “fixed” during his first term. I just don’t know that that will happen. If it does, it could be analogous to what happened with the post dot com recovery.
I’d prefer it if Gary Johnson won, and if you held a gun to my head and told me to choose between Obama and Romney I’d say: “Pull the trigger.” 🙂
WOOOHOOO!
